There is a large number of Arab, Syrians located throughout North America. They began migrating to North America since the late 1800's and had a surge in their population around 1965 when the Immigration Act of 1965 opened the American borders once again. The majority of Arab, Syrians are Christian but most of the recent arrivals are Muslim refugees.

The Arab, Syrian people are very successful at what they do and they, on average, make more per year than the average American. Many work in the medical field, and others work in management and other professional occupations. They are very committed to their professional life but they are just as committed to their family life. They prefer traditional relationships not necessarily only with those of Syrian decent but always of the Islamic faith.
